Winging it!

At times it might appear that I have it all together but that couldn’t be further from the truth. I’m just a hot mess that’s winging it everyday.

Life. Motherhood. Everything. I have no clue what I’m doing most days but thankfully it’s all working out. 😝

Everything is going to be okay

Life, it can pack up a punch sometimes, right? You wake up with determination and before you know it the day runs you over and you’re just trying to stay on your feet.

–> You might be holding some lottery tickets that didn’t pan out.

But listen to me, every little thing is going to be okay. It might not all come together today, tomorrow or this week but it will all be okay.

Inhale.
Exhale.
Just breath.
It will all be okay.

Give yourself grace

I had a reality check this morning when I stepped on the scale. I had gained 7 pounds in 3 weeks and my first reaction was to beat myself up. I fall into old habits quickly and for most of my life I have hated myself and never felt like I was good enough.

But then I thought, what would I tell my friend if she were in my shoes this morning. I’d say, “Give yourself some grace.”

The truth is, I’ve been fighting through some depression this summer. I normally love to exercise and my eating isn’t always perfect but I can usually keep it good for 90% of the time. But lately, it’s been a free for all on food and zero exercise. I’ve been letting my emotions control all of my actions. I’ve been a mess and I can’t take it anymore.

All of this ends today. I need to find me again. It’s not about the number on the scale but how I feel in my own skin. I want to feel confident and happy again. I want to be proud of my hard work.

Eat your veggies!

Are you eating your veggies?

I love salads but after awhile they get kind of boring. My favorite way to cook veggies is to roast them in the oven.

Today’s medley: brussel sprouts, carrots, butternut squash and red potatoes.

Directions: Roast them in the oven at 425.  Take them out when they’re fork tender.

I once didn’t believe I could work from home and earn enough to live. I thought it sounded too good to be true. I had doubts and fears that held me back. I was skeptical.

3 Day Refresh:

Have you ever let your eating get out of control and before you know it the scale has creeped up 5 pounds and you feel bloated and gross? That was me earlier this week.

You might think that because I’m a fitness coach I am perfect with my nutrition and never struggle with eating bad foods. But the truth is I struggle just like everyone. I love Cheetos, beer, cake and Starbucks. I usually live by the rule of moderation (good clean eating 90% of the time and 10% freedom). However, sometimes I slip and before I know it the equation is 50/50 and the scale starts creeping up and I start to feel gross. When I start to slip up I need a complete refocus. I usually do the Shakeology Cleanse but this time I tried the 3 Day Refresh. 

Results: I lost 4.6 lbs and 2 inches off my waist.

The question I always get after doing a cleanse is “will the weight stay off?”

First of all, now that I’m done I’m putting my scale away for awhile. I only get on my scale when I’m doing a cleanse or following a new fitness program. Second, everyone’s weight fluctuates up and down a few pounds. I don’t use the scale as a measurement of my success. It’s just a tool to show that I’m detoxing my body and losing the bloating that was plaguing me.

But every time I do a cleanse my body has felt fantastic and has stayed the same shape afterwards until I let my eating slide again. Will it go up or down from here? I’m not sure because I don’t plan on being a slave to the scale. The point of this cleanse wasn’t to lose weight but to detox my body and refocus my mind.

21 Day Fix: Breakfast Sandwich

This is a simple breakfast to make and eat on the go!!

What you need:

  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tomato
  • a handful of spinach
  • 2 pieces of whole grain toast (I LOVE Good Seed bread by Dave’s Killer Bread)

Scramble your eggs, toast your bread, slice the tomato and assemble the sandwich.

IT’S THAT SIMPLE!!! 

I don’t add any butter to my bread and I don’t miss it at all.   Sometimes I add a few dashes of hot sauce or Sriracha to give it an extra kick.

This breakfast fills me up for several hours and it’s perfect after a hard workout!
