3 Day Refresh:

Have you ever let your eating get out of control and before you know it the scale has creeped up 5 pounds and you feel bloated and gross? That was me earlier this week.

You might think that because I’m a fitness coach I am perfect with my nutrition and never struggle with eating bad foods. But the truth is I struggle just like everyone. I love Cheetos, beer, cake and Starbucks. I usually live by the rule of moderation (good clean eating 90% of the time and 10% freedom). However, sometimes I slip and before I know it the equation is 50/50 and the scale starts creeping up and I start to feel gross. When I start to slip up I need a complete refocus. I’m finally done with the Shakeology 3 Day Cleanse. This is exactly what I needed to refocus my mind and detox my body.

21 Day Fix Extreme: Results


Wow!!  I can’t believe that my 21 days of extreme are over!  I won’t lie, this last week was by far the hardest of the two weeks.  The finish line seemed so close yet so far away.  When I did the original 21 Day Fix (see my results here) the last week was the easiest but with extreme I really struggled mentally and just wanted to be done.  But when I put my mind to something I don’t quit, no matter how much I want too.

Day 1 and Day 21 Comparison:

I really wanted to get to 119 lbs but I think this is the weight my body is destined to be at.  I’m .4lbs lower than when I did the original fix.

Day 1 vs Day 15:

Weight: 126 and 120.1

Chest: 34 and 32

Right Arm: 10.5 and 10.25

Left Arm: 10.5 and 10.25

Hips: 34.5 and 32.25

Right Thigh: 20 and 18.25

Left Thigh: 20 and 18.25

Waist: 28.5 and 26

Overall:  I’m down 5.9 lbs and 11.75 inches overall!

Workout Recaps:

Day 15 – Plyo Fix Extreme: I hated this workout the first week.  It made me sore for days and days.  The second week it wasn’t so bad and by the third week I actually liked it.  Each week I tried to up my weights on each of the workouts but with this one I stuck with 7.5 lbs.  Jumping with 10 lb weights was too hard for me.

Day 16 – Upper Fix Extreme:  I love working my upper body and I think this was my favorite workout of all the extreme workouts.  I used 15 lb weights this week and it was challenging.  I was very sore the next day but it’s worth it to see some change in my biceps.

Day 17 – Pilates Fix Extreme: I remember doing this workout in the first week and thinking it was Chinese torture with a resistance band.  But on this last week I really loved it.  I had been working hard on my core and I could really tell a difference in my core strength when I did this workout for the third time.

Day 18 – Lower Fix Extreme: I was having an awful day on this day and I remember dreading doing this workout.  I hate working my legs and I had nothing in my tank to push hard.  I gave this workout a crappy effort and felt bad when I was done.  I followed the countdown to competition plan all week and I think the carb depletion bit me in the booty that day.


Day 19 – Cardio Fix Extreme: I should have taken a video of this workout because its a lot of fun.  I love to get my heart rate up and do some awesome cardio moves.  This workout has you do two moves with weights that work upper and lower body and then a 30 second challenging cardio move.

Day 21 – Dirty 30 Extreme:  I didn’t like Dirty 30 in the original fix because it was hard but I started to love this workout by the end of my extreme journey.  All of these moves work your upper and lower body at the same time.  It gets my heart rate really climbing and challenges me.  I enjoyed this workout a lot.  It could of been because I knew I was so close to being done too.  That’s a great motivator.

How the meal plan went:

At my weight I was eating 3 green(veggies), 2 purple (fruit), 4 red (protein), 2 yellow (carbs), 1 blue (healthy fats), 1 orange (nuts/seeds or dressing) but when I was doing the Countdown to Competition I was eating 3 green, 6 red and 1 yellow.  I followed the Countdown to Competition plan most of week 3.  There was one fall back day to extreme on day 17 but I also did one on day 20 too.  The C2C plan was challenging in the last days.  I was getting really cranky from the carb depletion and I just knew for my own sanity that I had to listen to my body and take another day on the regular plan.


I was eating a lot of veggies and protein the last week.  I didn’t take many photos because my meals were very repetitive.


I had been eating a lot of spinach salads since starting the 21 Day Fix Extreme and I’m over them. I recently found this broccoli slaw at Trader Joe’s and I’m in love!

Here’s what I did:
–>I cooked up some chicken breast with some salt free spices.
–>While I cooked the chicken I added the broccoli slaw to a small skillet with a little bit of water and brought it to a boil. My goal was to make the slaw a little tender so it resembled a veggie pasta instead of a slaw.
–>I measured out the slaw, chicken and tomatoes added a little rice wine vinegar and Sriracha. 

It was refreshing, filling and delicious!

Results and Review: 

Like I said at the beginning, I’m down 5.9 lbs and 11.75 inches.  I feel better than I have in a long time.  After I did the original 21 Day Fix in August 2014 I got lazy with  my nutrition.  I still exercised a lot but I started to eat things again that I know are bad for me.  I indulged more than a person needs too.  I always believe in living a life of moderation with treats occasionally but I was going overboard and it showed.  I gained back 5.5lbs of my original results from August to February.  I needed this program to refocus my energy towards health and away from the snack foods that I let control my life.  I needed to prove to myself again that I could get my eating under control and get results.

I’m 34 years old, I’ve had 3 kids and I’m in better shape today than I was before I had kids.  In fact, I’m in better shape than I was when I graduated high school. This program isn’t just about weight loss for me.  It’s about proving to myself that I can have the body of my dreams even after having 3 kids.  I’m working really hard to get abs that I never even had before I had kids.  My body feels fantastic and I’m very proud of the results I achieved.

21 Day Fix On The Go!


Being on the go doesn’t mean you have to succumb to fast food. The key to success is preparation.

I had a morning of running around and I did not want to compromise on day 3 with the 21 Day Fix Extreme nutrition plan. I took a few minutes before leaving and prepared a few things to bring with me while on the go!
—-> Water…never leave home without it.
—-> Shakeology…my quick breakfast packed with 70 super foods (1 red container)
—-> Hummus and veggies (red and green containers)
—-> an apple (purple container)

A dear friend once told me that prior planning prevents piss poor performance and she’s right! If you’re going to be busy, plan ahead!

I can’t believe that the 2015 is right around the corner.  Where did the time go?  It seems like 2014 just flew by!

January is usually when everyone gets a gym membership and commits to changing their health and fitness.  Have you been to a gym in the beginning of January?  It’s PACKED!!  Have you been back in February?  It’s back to how it was in December.  Why does that happen?  Most people are expecting instant results and when they don’t happen they give up.  They don’t know what they should be doing each day and slowly they stop going.

Here’s what I’ve learned since running and participating in challenge groups:

1. 80 % of your results come from your nutrition 

You can do cardio all day, everyday but if you don’t change your eating you’re not going to change your body. You can’t out exercise a bad diet.

2. SUPPORT is the key to SUCCESS!! 

Having a community of support to check in daily with is what was the secret to my success.  At any given time I could make a post in the closed group regarding my daily struggles and someone would give me either a tip, suggestion, lift me up or love on me so that I didn’t quit.  I felt encouraged that I wasn’t alone and that others were going through the same thing as me.  There was always someone else who was feeling like me and being part of that group made all the difference for me. I was not alone!  We were all in this together.

3. I need a system

I am the type of person that needs a detailed schedule to follow, a meal plan to duplicate and proven results for me to believe!  I cannot just wing it.  I need a guide to get me through each step.  I want to know that if I do X,Y and Z I will get the results of those in the infomercial.  I love that every Beachbody Fitness Program comes with a nutrition guide to help me eat for the workout I am doing!  I love that Beachbody has the awesome food storage containers so that I am eating the right amount of food each day.  It truly takes the guesswork out of my nutrition. This is afterall the hardest thing to change and Beachbody does a killer job at tackling that with ease!

4. Shakeology 

Shakeology is not a protein shake or weight loss quick fix.  I will be honest, I was skeptical at first when I heard of all the amazing things that Shakeology does for a body.  But despite being skeptical I had to try it.  I started to feel a change in my body after two weeks.  I had more energy, less cravings and my digestion was improved.  The biggest change was my energy level.  Plus it was nutrition that I wasn’t getting before.  I felt healthier, my workouts were better and now it’s my daily multivitamin.


5. Accountability for me

As a coach, I am just as accountable to myself as I am to my challengers.  As a coach I stay on track because I know I am leading by example. I want to inspire the others that I’m working with and each day I do my best as an example to them.   I want those around me to say, “If she can do it, I can do it too!  I’m no different than her” Because it’s true, I’m no different than anyone else.  I struggle and have off days too but being in a challenge group keeps me accountable.

I’m so thankful I have the chance to change my life physically and financially but I also have the chance to help others do the same thing. I started out working about 1 hour a day but now I’m working about 3-4 hours on a long day.  The best part is that my schedule is 100% flexible.  I can make it work around what’s best for my family.  I can also work from any location, so if we need to travel my work can come with me. My husband recently retired from the Air Force and my income is helping support our family as he transitions into a new career.  My income will also be a way for us to buy the home of my dreams.

What is a Challenge Group?

It’s getting close to the end of the year and that means the start of a fresh new year is upon us.  The beginning of a new year is typically when everyone makes New Year’s resolutions.  This is when you decide you are finally going to get healthy.  You are going to workout. You are FINALLY going to lose that last bit of weight you’ve been complaining about.  So what do you do?  You buy a gym membership (like everyone else who feels like you, so it’s going to be busy at the gym!).  You hit the treadmill and wait for results.  And you wait, and you keep waiting.

I’m not anti gym.  I think the gym can be an awesome place to get a workout in, if you know what you’re doing.  Most people don’t know what they should be doing each time they go and then they’re frustrated when they don’t see results.  When it comes to getting my workouts in, I do them at home in 1/2 the time, without the commute too. Since I’m a busy mom with three kids, running a business from home, I need to save all the time I can.   Plus my at home workouts come with a set schedule and plan to follow so there is never any guess work about what to do.

A challenge group is a safe and private place where you will be on a journey with people who are striving for the same goals as you.  You’ll receive support and encouragementas you make changes to improve your overall health.  It’s an online support group that has other people with fitness goals that are similar to your own and it’s all done in a Facebook group – which is closed and only seen by the members in the group.

As your coach, I am there to help you design a program to meet your health and fitness needs using one of our programs like P90X, Insanity, T25 or the 21 Day Fix.


While in the group, I will help you get started towards success.  You will follow the nutrition guidelines that come with your program along with adding Shakeology as a daily meal replacement.  Shakeology is not a protein or diet drink, its a nutritional supplement full of vitamins, minerals pre and probiotics and superfoods.  It will help boost your energy, cut your cravings and keep you full longer.  If you wanted to eat as many vegetables that are in one shake you’d have to eat six salads!  It’s a powerful tool for weight loss.  I will also help you find healthy recipes that you like, give you snack ideas and make sure your nutrition is on point for you to have success.  I will also hold you accountable and motivate you to keep going when you reach a low point.

What is Insanity Max:30?

If you want to be part of the test group, submit the application below to be considered for a spot in the group. The group will be only a SELECT group of individuals with are READY TO COMMIT to 60 days of focus and intensity. I will be right there with you to help you navigate the workouts, the nutrition plan, to teach you how to plan your meals, to make it work for your life and most importantly, to keep you accountable.
