While I was in Nashville I had the privilege of working out with Shaun T. Before we got started he talked about not just going through the movements of exercise but really focusing on something while you’re doing it.
My focus: to be strong, even when I don’t feel strong.
Watch Shaun T. and ask yourself, what is my focus?
Are you just going through the moves or are you focusing on your goals and inner strength?
I think all too often we like to focus on just the physical transformation and today I would like to spotlight a new coach in my downline.
This is her transformation and in 21 days she changed her body on the outside, she lost 10 lbs and 10 inches, but more importantly she had an internal transformation as well. I had the pleasure of talking to her yesterday and I was absolutely blown away with her story.
Here is what she told me:
–> She’s no longer depressed or anxious.
–> She feels confident again and she hasn’t felt that way in years.
–> Two serious health issues, that she’s been dealing with for years are correcting themselves.
She followed the 21 Day Fix meal plan completely, did her workouts and drank Shakeology. Her life is completely different and the happiness I saw in her eyes was priceless!
Let me start by saying that:
–> I am not a dancer
–> I didn’t think I would like this workout
–> Sharing this is completely out of my comfort zone.
What I learned after 30 minutes:
–> Having fun is the best way to sweat!
–> Workouts with kids are fun…check out my photo bomber!
–> If I can do this, YOU CAN DO THIS TOO!
–> Dance like no one is watching and Cize the day!
Seriously, this 30 minute workout rocked! It went by so fast, it got me so sweaty and it was fun!
This is a brand new fitness program by Shaun T. called Cize. If you are looking for a FUN new workout, this is it! Do you want to #Cizeitup with me in September too?
You can face today with fierceness and find a way to attack your goals or you can find an excuse. The choice is always yours.
Life will throw you a lot of things that will make excuses easy to find but overcoming them and pressing forward anyways is where the magic happens.
I’m attacking my goals with fierceness today!! I have a brand new group of ladies in an accountability group and I can’t wait to lead them in the next 21 days. I can’t wait to have them help me be accountable too.

Wow!! I can’t believe that my 21 days of extreme are over! I won’t lie, this last week was by far the hardest of the two weeks. The finish line seemed so close yet so far away. When I did the original 21 Day Fix (see my results here) the last week was the easiest but with extreme I really struggled mentally and just wanted to be done. But when I put my mind to something I don’t quit, no matter how much I want too.
Day 1 and Day 21 Comparison:
I really wanted to get to 119 lbs but I think this is the weight my body is destined to be at. I’m .4lbs lower than when I did the original fix.
Day 1 vs Day 15:
Weight: 126 and 120.1
Chest: 34 and 32
Right Arm: 10.5 and 10.25
Left Arm: 10.5 and 10.25
Hips: 34.5 and 32.25
Right Thigh: 20 and 18.25
Left Thigh: 20 and 18.25
Waist: 28.5 and 26
Overall: I’m down 5.9 lbs and 11.75 inches overall!
Day 15 – Plyo Fix Extreme: I hated this workout the first week. It made me sore for days and days. The second week it wasn’t so bad and by the third week I actually liked it. Each week I tried to up my weights on each of the workouts but with this one I stuck with 7.5 lbs. Jumping with 10 lb weights was too hard for me.
Day 16 – Upper Fix Extreme: I love working my upper body and I think this was my favorite workout of all the extreme workouts. I used 15 lb weights this week and it was challenging. I was very sore the next day but it’s worth it to see some change in my biceps.
Day 17 – Pilates Fix Extreme: I remember doing this workout in the first week and thinking it was Chinese torture with a resistance band. But on this last week I really loved it. I had been working hard on my core and I could really tell a difference in my core strength when I did this workout for the third time.
Day 18 – Lower Fix Extreme: I was having an awful day on this day and I remember dreading doing this workout. I hate working my legs and I had nothing in my tank to push hard. I gave this workout a crappy effort and felt bad when I was done. I followed the countdown to competition plan all week and I think the carb depletion bit me in the booty that day.
Day 19 – Cardio Fix Extreme: I should have taken a video of this workout because its a lot of fun. I love to get my heart rate up and do some awesome cardio moves. This workout has you do two moves with weights that work upper and lower body and then a 30 second challenging cardio move.
Day 21 – Dirty 30 Extreme: I didn’t like Dirty 30 in the original fix because it was hard but I started to love this workout by the end of my extreme journey. All of these moves work your upper and lower body at the same time. It gets my heart rate really climbing and challenges me. I enjoyed this workout a lot. It could of been because I knew I was so close to being done too. That’s a great motivator.
How the meal plan went:
At my weight I was eating 3 green(veggies), 2 purple (fruit), 4 red (protein), 2 yellow (carbs), 1 blue (healthy fats), 1 orange (nuts/seeds or dressing) but when I was doing the Countdown to Competition I was eating 3 green, 6 red and 1 yellow. I followed the Countdown to Competition plan most of week 3. There was one fall back day to extreme on day 17 but I also did one on day 20 too. The C2C plan was challenging in the last days. I was getting really cranky from the carb depletion and I just knew for my own sanity that I had to listen to my body and take another day on the regular plan.
I was eating a lot of veggies and protein the last week. I didn’t take many photos because my meals were very repetitive.
I had been eating a lot of spinach salads since starting the 21 Day Fix Extreme and I’m over them. I recently found this broccoli slaw at Trader Joe’s and I’m in love!
Here’s what I did:
–>I cooked up some chicken breast with some salt free spices.
–>While I cooked the chicken I added the broccoli slaw to a small skillet with a little bit of water and brought it to a boil. My goal was to make the slaw a little tender so it resembled a veggie pasta instead of a slaw.
–>I measured out the slaw, chicken and tomatoes added a little rice wine vinegar and Sriracha.
It was refreshing, filling and delicious!
If you’re following the fix its: 1 red and 1.5 green.
I did discover an amazing new Shakeology recipe this week too! It really helped me with my sweet cravings during this last week.
Results and Review:
Like I said at the beginning, I’m down 5.9 lbs and 11.75 inches. I feel better than I have in a long time. After I did the original 21 Day Fix in August 2014 I got lazy with my nutrition. I still exercised a lot but I started to eat things again that I know are bad for me. I indulged more than a person needs too. I always believe in living a life of moderation with treats occasionally but I was going overboard and it showed. I gained back 5.5lbs of my original results from August to February. I needed this program to refocus my energy towards health and away from the snack foods that I let control my life. I needed to prove to myself again that I could get my eating under control and get results.
I’m 34 years old, I’ve had 3 kids and I’m in better shape today than I was before I had kids. In fact, I’m in better shape than I was when I graduated high school. This program isn’t just about weight loss for me. It’s about proving to myself that I can have the body of my dreams even after having 3 kids. I’m working really hard to get abs that I never even had before I had kids. My body feels fantastic and I’m very proud of the results I achieved.
What’s next for you?
I can’t say enough about this amazing nutrition plan and the workouts of this program. I’ve personally helped over 40 people use this nutrition plan and it delivers results. If you follow it you will see inches and pounds disappear. Is it easy, no. Does it take work, yes. But is it possible, absolutely.
Would you consider joining me in one of my 21 Day Fix accountability groups? You could choose either the original 21 Day Fix or the 21 Day Fix Extreme depending on your current fitness level. I’d love to personally help you get the results you’ve been wanting. I believe this product works and I believe that you have what it takes to see results too.
Watch these videos to see if this might be a good fit for you.
I’d love to help you get in the best shape of your life too!! If you’d like to join me and have me by your side as you do the 21 Day Fix or the 21 Day Fix Extreme, fill out the below application and I’ll be in touch!
I finished the entire Insanity Max:30 program at the beginning of February. The workouts were amazing and challenged me in so many ways. I would love to say I had great results during that 60 day program but to be honest I didn’t follow the meal plan at all. The workouts were so challenging that I fell into the trap of, “I did an INSANE workout and I can eat this and be fine!” I shouldn’t have been surprised when I stepped on the scale last Monday and I was up 5 pounds from my original 21 Day Fix results in September.
I knew that I needed to focus on my nutrition again and I figured it was time to get EXTREME with the 21 Day Fix Extreme. I love trying new and challenging workouts. The difference between the 21 Day Fix and the 21 Day Fix Extreme is: harder workouts, a more dialed in nutrition plan that doesn’t allow any cheats. That means, no alcohol or swaps for treats the entire 21 days. Gulp.
Day1: Before photos and measurements:
Chest: 24 inches
Right Arm: 10.5 inches
Left Arm: 10.5 inches
Hips: 34.5 inches
Right Thigh: 20 inches
Left Thigh: 20 inches
Waist: 28.5 inches
Day 1 Plyo Fix Extreme: After recovering from the humbling the scale gave me I was ready to tackle this 21 days with all that I had. I loved following the meal plan in the original 21 Day Fix and I knew that this was what I needed. The first workout on the calendar is called Plyo Fix. I figured I’d be fine with this workout because I just did 60 days with Insanity Max:30 and it was all Plyo. Well, again I got humbled really quick. This workout combines weights and jumping and was very challenging. I was cursing under my breath a lot.
Day 2 Upper Fix Extreme: I woke up very sore from Plyo Fix Extreme. In fact, I was so sore that the stairs were not my friend. Going up and down them just killed my legs and I was so thankful that the workout for the day was Upper Fix Extreme. I love working my upper body and I loved this workout.
Day 3 Pilates Fix Extreme: I woke up and my legs were even more sore from that first workout. The Plyo Fix Extremem was haunting me and I was doing a lot of foam rolling to try and get all the lactic acid out of my legs. Today’s workout was Pilates Fix Extreme and in the original 21 Day Fix the pilates workout is an active recovery day. Well, not so much in the extreme. This workout used a resistance band for all the exercises and was challenging in a different way than the previous days workouts with weights. I actually really liked it because it was different than anything I had done before. I’ll take a video next time but it’s lots of moves with the resistance band wrapped around the legs.
Day 4 Lower Fix Extreme: Leg day. Really? More legs? My legs had finally recovered from the torture on Monday and it was time to do Lower Fix Extreme. I remember the original Lower Fix left me sore too and so I was scared to do this workout. Thankfully, my legs made it through the workout just fine. I did mutter some choice words under my breath at Autumn. She loves to work the legs.
Day 5 Cardio Fix Extreme: I’m so thankful that all of these workouts are 30 minutes long because I can push myself to do them. It’s easy to tell yourself, “I can do anything for 30 minutes” and that’s usually my mantra for the entire workout. This workout was Cardio Fix Extreme and I love cardio. This workout went by fast for me and thankfully I wasn’t too sore from the previous day’s leg work. I think the more I was using my legs during the week the better it was for me.
Day 6 Dirty 30 Extreme: I never liked the Dirty 30 workout in the original fix so seeing a Dirty 30 Extreme made my skin crawl. I was surprised that I actually liked this workout and felt very strong when I was finished. I also started to do the Hardcore 10 minute abs video on this day. My goal is to do it 3 times a week in my remaining two weeks.
Day 7 Rest: This is the day you’re supposed to do Yoga Fix Extreme but I don’t like yoga and skipped the workout. I did walk 3 miles with some friends as an active recovery day.
Making the containers work for me:
I love the container system that comes with the 21 Day Fix Extreme! It makes planning my meals and portion sizes so easy. I don’t have to count calories or worry about any numbers. I just keep track of what I’m supposed to eat each day and eat it.
My plan requires I eat: 4 red (protein), 3 green (veggies) 2 purple (fruits), 2 yellow (healthy carbs), 1 blue (healthy fats), 1 orange (nuts/seeds/dressing).
I keep track of my food intake with this app: the 21 Day Fix Fit Tracker
I started my week off with a great shopping trip to Costco to get all the foods I need to eat. I love Costco when I’m on the fix because I need veggies and protein in bulk!
Here are a few examples of the food I ate during the week. I usually eat a lot of the same thing every day. Most meals I have a protein (red) and a veggie (green) and sometimes a healthy carb (yellow). I added some whole wheat pasta to my salad one day and it was so delicious. I love to eat tomatoes with my eggs too. My favorite snack is always greek yogurt and veggies.
Breakfast: 2 scrambled eggs and tomatoes
Lunch: Turkey Burger and Veggies
Dinner: Lean ground beef with homemade taco seasoning, whole wheat pasta, veggies and salsa
Snack: Greek Yogurt and Berries
I was out and about one day and made sure to plan ahead before I went. Proper planning is essential when following this meal plan. I never want to get caught without a snack in case my errands run longer than expected. Shakeology is my portable breakfast and Hummus with veggies is my go to snack when on the go.
I even went out to eat one day this week. I stayed on track with my meal plan and ordered chicken and salad from Red Robin.
Sunday I did a big meal prep and cooked chicken, veggies and whole grain pasta. I measured them out with my containers and put them big containers and stuck them in the fridge so they’re ready to eat for the week.
Week 1 Results:
Chest: 33.5 inches
Right Arm: 10.25 inches
Left Arm: 10.25 inches
Hips: 33.5 inches
Right Thigh: 19 inches
Left Thigh: 19 inches
Waist: 27.5 inches
Total Loss: 2.4 lbs and 5 inches overall!
If you’d like to join me in doing the 21 Day Fix or the 21 Day Fix Extreme email me here or fill out the below application:
This workout is no joke! It left me gasping for air in the warm up and I didn’t catch my breath until I was done. There are 30 second breaks every 4:30-5:00 minutes and that’s just enough time for me to regroup and push harder for the next interval.
The best part about it is I’m pushing myself to my max and when I need to stop and rest, I record my time and the next time I do this workout I will try to get further. I’m my own competition and I love the challenge! Today #IMAXEDOUT at 13:30.
I’ll be starting a Max group in January if you’re up for the challenge! Just go here for more information on my next challenge group.
